XHM3016C Colour Night Vision Module
1,760 m detection at 0.0009 lux colour night vision, bare OEM imaging module for custom housing integration.
XHM3016C Technical Overview
What It Is
The XHM3016C is a bare medium-range, ultra-low-light electro-optical imaging module, supplied without outer housing, built around a starlight-grade CMOS sensor and a wide-angle fixed-focus lens for integration into a customer-designed enclosure.
Performance
The module shares its imaging, optical, and electronic performance with the equivalent XHC camera model: under NVESD test conditions using a 1.7 × 0.5 m human target it detects at 1,530–1,760 m, recognises at 380–440 m, and identifies at 240–275 m, while holding full colour down to 0.0009 lux at 25 fps without auxiliary illumination.
Key Technical Features
- ONVIF-compliant streaming over RTSP with PELCO protocol support, output over the same RJ45/WiFi/4G interfaces as the housed camera
- 72 dB native dynamic range, extending to 100 dB with Wide Dynamic Range enabled
- AI-based body detection with global, cross-border, and regional alert zones
- Supplied without housing, mounting bracket, or environmental sealing for full OEM design freedom
Platform Compatibility
Intended for OEM integrators building custom border-surveillance, perimeter, maritime, or critical-infrastructure products who need to design their own housing, thermal management, and environmental protection around a proven imaging core.
Bare Imaging Core, Wide Field of View
The module pairs a wide-angle fixed-focus lens with a housing-free design, giving integrators both a broad field of view and full control over the surrounding enclosure. No mounting bracket or environmental sealing is included, so mechanical integration is entirely the OEM's responsibility.
Camera-Equivalent Optical Performance
Optical, imaging, and electronic performance carry over unchanged from the XHC3016C camera this module is derived from. Integrators inherit the same medium-range, low-light colour capability without the cost or bulk of a housing they will replace anyway.
Simplified Fixed-Focus Design
With no auto-focus motor or back-focus adjustment to integrate, the module's control requirements are simpler than the series' ABF variants. That makes it a more straightforward core to embed into space- or budget-constrained OEM designs.
Zone-Based AI Detection
AI body detection can be split into global, cross-border, and regional zones and passed through to the integrator's own alerting logic. Manual zoom extends how far the AI trigger itself reaches, independent of what a human operator can see on the feed.

Designed for the Field
Custom EO Payload Integration
Provides OEM integrators a proven wide-field starlight imaging core to build into a purpose-designed housing or multi-sensor payload.
Border and Perimeter Product Lines
Suits manufacturers building their own branded perimeter-security or gate-monitoring camera products around a verified imaging core.
OEM Design Freedom
Bare-module delivery lets integrators control housing, thermal management, and industrial design rather than adapting to a fixed enclosure.
Custom Payload Integration
System builders developing their own branded surveillance products need a proven wide-coverage imaging core rather than a full finished camera. The XHM3016C delivers the same optical and low-light performance as its housed counterpart in a bare, integration-ready form. 1,760 m detection and 0.0009 lux colour sensitivity give integrators a medium-range, wide-field core to build around without developing sensor and lens technology from scratch. ONVIF/RTSP/PELCO output keeps the finished product compatible with standard VMS platforms.
- Detection Range 1,760 m
- Min Illumination 0.0009 lux
- Output Protocol ONVIF, RTSP, PELCO
- FOV Horizontal ≈50°
Branded Perimeter & Gate Products
Distributors and manufacturers serving perimeter-security and access-control markets often need a differentiated product built on proven imaging hardware. The module's wide-field, colour-in-the-dark performance is designed to sit inside a customer's own housing and branding. A native 72 dB dynamic range, extending to 100 dB with WDR, keeps the image usable through dusk, dawn, and mixed lighting at a gate or fence line. AI body detection with cross-border and regional alert zones can be built into the finished product's alerting logic.
- Dynamic Range 72 dB, 100 dB with WDR
- Recognition Range 440 m
- Identification Range 275 m
- Connectivity RJ45, WiFi, optional 4G
OEM Mechanical Design Freedom
Because the module ships without housing, mounting bracket, or environmental sealing, integrators retain full control of industrial design, thermal management, and ingress protection for their finished product. The fixed-focus design also removes any auto-focus mechanism from the mechanical integration effort. Electrical interfaces, imaging performance, and firmware behaviour remain consistent with the equivalent XHC camera model, so integration effort focuses on mechanical and environmental design rather than re-validating imaging performance. Star-Navi requests direct contact for module dimensions and weight to support enclosure design.
- Power < 2.0 W normal, < 2.45 W peak
- Voltage 12 V ± 3 V, optional PoE
- Housing Not supplied, OEM-designed
- SDK Available on request
System Integration
Interface Architecture
The XHM3016C exposes the same ONVIF/RTSP/PELCO network interface as its housed XHC counterpart, plus an optional SDK for deeper integration.
Full mechanical and configuration-level integration detail is available to verified corporate accounts.
Network Video Interface
Streams live video over RJ45 Ethernet using RTSP, with ONVIF compliance and PELCO protocol support carried over from the equivalent housed camera model. WiFi and optional 4G provide unwired connectivity for integrated designs without fixed cabling.
