System Overview

XHC3012C Technical Overview

What It Is

The XHC3012C is a compact, wide-angle, ultra-low-light electro-optical surveillance camera built around a starlight-grade CMOS sensor and a short-focal-length fixed-focus lens, engineered to hold full-colour imaging in near-total darkness without an infrared illuminator.

Performance

Under NVESD test conditions using a 1.7 × 0.5 m human target, the camera detects at 1,130–1,260 m, recognises at 280–310 m, and identifies at 180–200 m, while holding full colour down to 0.0008 lux at 25 fps and as low as 0.00002 lux at reduced sensitivity — all without auxiliary illumination.

Key Technical Features

  • ONVIF-compliant streaming over RTSP with PELCO protocol support for third-party VMS integration
  • 72 dB native dynamic range, extending to 100 dB with Wide Dynamic Range enabled
  • AI-based body detection with global, cross-border, and regional alert zones
  • RJ45 Ethernet with optional WiFi and 4G connectivity for remote or unwired sites

Platform Compatibility

The camera is suited to fixed-mast and wall-mount installations for border surveillance, perimeter security, maritime monitoring, and critical-infrastructure protection, and integrates directly into ONVIF-based video management systems without additional hardware.

Full-Colour Starlight Sensor

The series' starlight-tuned CMOS sensor keeps this camera in full colour at illumination levels where most security cameras have already switched to black-and-white or IR-assisted imaging. No auxiliary illuminator means the installation stays visually unobtrusive at night.

Compact Wide-Angle Optics

A 12 mm lens and an F1.0 aperture give this model the widest field of view and the largest maximum aperture in the XHC3 range, at the lightest housed weight of the four tiers. That combination suits close-in coverage where a wide view matters more than long throw.

Fixed-Focus Simplicity

With no back-focus adjustment to set after mounting, installation is limited to aiming and cabling. A 5 m to infinity depth of field keeps everything from near-field entry points to the edge of the detection range in usable focus.

AI-Assisted Alert Zones

Onboard AI body detection can be configured into global, cross-border, and regional alert zones to flag activity automatically. Manual zoom extends the AI detection trigger distance for operators confirming activity at range.

Operational Scenarios

Designed for the Field

Close-Range Perimeter and Gate Surveillance

Provides continuous full-colour situational awareness across gates, compounds, and shorter perimeter runs after dark, without relying on visible IR illumination.

Maritime and Critical Infrastructure Monitoring

Extends coastal and facility-perimeter monitoring into low-light and night conditions where conventional daylight cameras lose usable image detail.

Fixed-Focus VMS Integration

Integrators mount the camera on masts, walls, or elevated structures and bring it into existing ONVIF-based command-and-control and VMS platforms without a focus-commissioning step.

Close-Range Perimeter Coverage

Gates, compounds, and shorter perimeter runs benefit from a wider field of view more than they benefit from long reach. The XHC3012C's compact wide-angle lens is built to cover close-in ground in full colour after dark, without a visible illuminator marking the camera's position. Detection out to 1,260 m and colour sensitivity down to 0.0008 lux support tighter-perimeter coverage from a single fixed mount. AI body detection with cross-border and regional alert zones lets operators automate what would otherwise be constant manual monitoring.

  • Detection Range 1,260 m
  • Recognition Range 310 m
  • Min Illumination 0.0008 lux
  • FOV Horizontal ≈52°

Maritime & Infrastructure Monitoring

Ports, coastal facilities, and infrastructure sites need dependable close-range night coverage across gates, yards, and dockside approaches. The camera's wide field of view and light housed weight suit tighter mounting points where a long-throw telephoto lens would be unnecessary. 72 dB native dynamic range, extending to 100 dB with WDR enabled, keeps the picture usable against reflective water and mixed dusk or dawn lighting. RJ45, WiFi, and optional 4G connectivity support both permanent cabled sites and temporary or remote installations.

  • Dynamic Range 72 dB, 100 dB with WDR
  • Identification Range 200 m
  • Connectivity RJ45, WiFi, optional 4G
  • Max Illumination 100,000 lux

Fixed-Focus VMS Integration

Integrators upgrading a surveillance network need a camera that drops into existing video management software without custom drivers or a focus-commissioning step. The XHC3012C's fixed-focus design and light weight simplify installation compared to the series' motorised ABF models. ONVIF compliance, RTSP streaming, and PELCO protocol support cover the majority of third-party platforms, with an SDK available on request for deeper custom integration. A 5 m to infinity depth of field means no back-focus adjustment is needed after mounting.

  • Protocol Support ONVIF, RTSP, PELCO
  • Depth of Field 5 m to infinity
  • SDK Available on request
  • Storage 32 GB default, up to 128 GB
