XHM8135B-ABF Ultra Long-Range Starlight Black & White Module
0.0003 lux @ 25 fps minimum illumination, 5,880 m detection range, ultra long-range starlight imaging module.
System Detail
What It Is
The XHM8135B-ABF is an OEM night vision imaging core module from the XHM8 Series, classified as an Ultra Low Light EO Camera Module. It uses a large-format starlight CMOS sensor and high-aperture ultra long-range optics to deliver continuous black & white imaging under natural night-sky conditions, with no auxiliary infrared illuminator required.
Performance
The XHM8135B-ABF reaches a minimum effective illumination of 0.0003 lux @ 25 fps, a detection range of 5,880 m and a recognition range of 1,470 m against a 1.7 × 0.5 m human target under the US NVESD Measurement Standard. Dynamic range runs 72 dB (WDR Off) / 84–120 dB (WDR On, Adjustable), holding detail in mixed night-sky and artificial-light scenes.
Key Technical Features
- ONVIF-compliant IP streaming over RTSP and PELCO, reachable via RJ45 Ethernet, WiFi or optional 4G LTE
- Onboard AI alerting with global, cross-border and regional detection modes
- 3D noise reduction, electronic image stabilisation and fog-penetration enhancement for degraded-visibility scenes
- Motorised Auto Back Focus for remote focus adjustment after mounting
Platform Compatibility
The bare core targets integrators building elevated border and coastal watch platforms, pan-tilt masts or custom long-range enclosures who need the imaging engine without a fixed housing footprint.
Identification-Grade Range
Beyond detection and recognition, the XHM8135B-ABF resolves targets to identification standard out to 920 m against the same 1.7 × 0.5 m target basis. This closes the loop from initial alert to a confirmed, actionable identification without switching sensors.
Full HD Starlight Sensor
The 1.8-inch CMOS sensor uses a 13 × 13 µm pixel pitch to output 1920 × 1080 resolution. The larger pixel area is what lets the sensor gather usable signal at starlight illumination levels without amplifying noise.
Bare OEM Imaging Core
The module shares its optical and electronic performance with the equivalent Ultra Long-Range SKU in the series. It is supplied without outer housing, mounting bracket or environmental sealing, leaving mechanical integration and weatherproofing to the OEM integrator.
Wide Operating Envelope
The unit is rated across -40°C to +70°C, with storage tolerance extended to -55°C to +85°C. That spread covers exposed mast, coastal and desert installations without a separate environmental variant.

Designed for the Field
Border & Coastal Watch
Engineered for border corridors and coastal approaches where a target must be identified long before it reaches a controlled line.
Elevated Mast Surveillance
The 135 mm optic and motorised back-focus suit mast and tower installations where the horizon, not the near field, defines the mission.
OEM & Systems Integration
System integrators and OEM customers embed the bare core into their own enclosure, gimbal or pan-tilt platform, inheriting the same imaging performance as the packaged camera.
Border Corridor Monitoring
Long, exposed border lines and coastal approaches call for a single fixed position to hold a wide stretch of ground under starlight, without relying on active illumination that would give the installation away. Operators need enough standoff distance to classify a target well before it reaches a controlled line. Detection range of 5,880 m and recognition range of 1,470 m against a 1.7 × 0.5 m target keep a target classified well before it reaches the line.
- Detection Range 5,880 m
- Recognition Range 1,470 m
- Field of View 16°
- AI Detection Modes Global Alert, Cross-Border Alert, Regional Alert
Coastal & Perimeter Watch
Coast guard stations and critical-infrastructure perimeters share the same problem: a long, low-contrast horizon that has to be held continuously, day and night, without a lighting rig. Elevated mast or tower mounting keeps the horizon in view but makes physical access for refocusing impractical. Identification range of 920 m and a minimum illumination floor of 0.00009 lux @ 5 fps keep the scene usable at the darkest part of the night.
- Identification Range 920 m
- Illumination Range 0.00009 lux to 100,000 lux
- Dynamic Range 72 dB (WDR Off) / 84–120 dB (WDR On, Adjustable)
- AI Video Analytics Range ≥ 300 m (3× manual zoom extension available)
Mast & Tower Integration
System integrators building elevated watch towers, coastal masts or vehicle-mounted long-range platforms need an imaging core that can be embedded into their own enclosure rather than a finished camera body. Remote focus control matters more here than at any other range, since the mount is rarely revisited after commissioning. Electrical interfaces and imaging performance carry over unchanged from the equivalent XHC camera, powered from 12 V ± 3 V (PoE Optional) with < 1.7 W Typical (WiFi Off) / < 3.0 W Peak (WiFi + AF On).
- Operating Voltage 12 V ± 3 V (PoE Optional)
